The fourth quarter of 2022 saw diverse trends in the performance of the top dining and restaurant apps on iOS in the United Arab Emirates. According to Sensor Tower data, here’s an overview of how the top five apps fared in terms of downloads and active users.
McDonald’s - Non-US exhibited fluctuating weekly downloads, starting with approximately 5.7K in late September and peaking at around 7.6K in mid-October. By the end of December, downloads had dropped to about 3.5K. The app's weekly active users saw a modest increase from 48.8K to 54.5K in October but settled back to 49K by the end of the quarter.
KFC UAE - Order Food Online experienced a steady rise in weekly downloads, beginning at 3.5K in late September and reaching a high of 5.6K by mid-December. The app's weekly active users followed a similar upward trend, growing from 19.7K at the start of the quarter to a peak of 24.7K in early December, before slightly decreasing to 22.2K by the end of the year.
Starbucks UAE maintained relatively consistent weekly downloads, hovering around 5.2K in early October and ending the quarter with about 3.5K. The app's weekly active users showed a notable increase, rising from 44.2K at the beginning of the quarter to 53.8K by the end of December.
Pizza Hut UAE- Order Food Now showed a varied pattern in weekly downloads, starting at around 3.1K in late September, peaking at 4.1K in early October, and closing the quarter at approximately 3.4K. The app's weekly active users also fluctuated, beginning at 9.8K, reaching a high of 11.3K in early October, and ending the quarter at 11.1K.
Zomato: Food Delivery & Dining faced a more turbulent quarter. Weekly downloads started at 2.3K in late September, dipped to about 1.4K in mid-December, and saw a slight recovery to 1.7K by the end of the year. However, the app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, starting at 140.7K and ending the quarter at 149.8K, with minor fluctuations in between.
